A small, familiar team — many of whom have known your pets since they were puppies and kittens.
“I have been around pets and helping them since I can remember. One of my earliest memories was taking puppies shortly after they were removed by c-section from their mother and helping get them breathing and keeping them warm. It may have been at this time when I fell in love with Veterinary Medicine.”
A second-generation veterinarian, Dr. Hardy grew up in his father’s hospital and spent every school vacation working alongside him before studying at UCLA. He went on to spend five years as an emergency veterinarian handling pets in life-threatening circumstances, and today leads Best Friends Pet Hospital with a focus on high-quality medicine and exceptional client service.
Best Friends Pet Hospital was my first experience in the veterinary field when I was hired as an assistant back in 2007. I am a lifelong animal lover and enthusiast. In 4th grade I was the only child in a 12 week dog training course where my dog received 2nd place out of 40 dogs. I became a certified dog groomer in 2006, the same year I started my own pet sitting business.
After 10 years with Dr. Hardy, I went on to work at many other vet hospitals including emergency and specialty. Today I continue to dog train in K9 aggression and behavior modification. Returning to Best Friends as a leader is so rewarding. Seeing pets who I first knew as puppies and kittens warms my heart. Seeing pet parents who I haven’t seen in years is unmatched. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.
Hello my name is Jose & this is Witchy who’s part of the welcoming committee here at Best Friends Pet Hospital. I am grateful to be here helping animals & families in their time of need no matter the circumstance. As I expand my knowledge & love for animals I aspire to be able to travel around the world rescuing all sorts of different animals in need as well as assisting families who find themselves in a difficult situation with their furry loved one.
Choosing to become a veterinary assistant was a natural fit for me because it allowed me to turn my love for animals into a meaningful and rewarding career. I am committed to providing every patient with the highest level of care, comfort and compassion throughout their visit — treating each animal as though they were my own, and working to create a trusting, positive experience for both pets and their owners. Through dedication, teamwork, and a strong commitment to quality patient care, I strive to make a lasting, positive impact every day.
